Sodo-ji is a temple where the Tondazaka Slope walk starts.  It is a zen Buddhist temple of the Rinzai sect. 

There are some art works by Nosetsu Nagasawa who lived during the middle of the Edo era.  

Temple is a 30-minute walk from JR Shirahama Station.

The walls of the temple are built by a famous castle wall builder.
