WHAT IS THE CO-OP YOU ASK?

The Menomonie Market Food Co-op is a committed community that strives to provide high quality natural and organic products at fair prices, while supporting local producers and the local economy. 

What happens when you shop at the Co-op:

• First and foremost, you are supporting your community! But it's broader than that. WHO are you supporting you ask? The people in need. The Co-op is member-owned, and donates substantially to nonprofits and other community-based organizations.  One of the co-op's partners is Stepping Stones, to whom the co-op donates both money and food. 
• When you shop at the Co-op, the local food system is strengthened, and the cooperative model is supported,

All you have to do is shop there, simple as that. Every penny spent is used to support local farmer, the hungry, and it all comes right back to you.

If you want to make an even bigger impact than what you already are doing, you can buy a share of the Co-op, and be a part owner with a blink of an eye. It's not hard!

A share is just $100, and you get discounts on so many food items! This goes for your whole household as well! On top of discounts, and being a part owner, you can join the 2,100 other owners and cast your vote every year to elect the co-op board. With there being so many co-owners, means that the Co-op cannot be bought out by large corporations looking to make an extra penny. It just cannot happen, and we're happy about that!
