Santa Cruz's original bagels! Absolutely a must go-to place for those who like bagels. These bagels are the real thing, BOILED FIRST, to give a dense bagel with a glistening, chewy crust and distinctive taste, as Jews intended. This is not how most so-called bagels are made today (un-boiled, a so-called bagel is nothing more than bread formed into the shape of a doughnut). One should value this place for making real 'water bagels'! There's a plethora of delicious spreads and toppings plus an array of freshly baked bagels. Choose from garlic to pesto to tomato herb to sesame plus others! Also have whole wheat and lo-carb options. All the workers are always really cool about 'mixing and matching' your bagel, getting 1/2 something and 1/2 another. Also a plus is their free wireless internet! 3 locations: downtown, Seabright, and Soquel.
Spreads
The best spreads, by far, are the Veggie Cream Cheese, and the New Delhi.
