Montaña De Oro (Mountain of Gold) is one of the largest state parks in California over 8,000 acres of rugged cliffs, secluded sandy beaches, coastal plains, streams, canyons, and hills, including 1,437-foot Valencia Peak. The park is home to a wide variety of local flora and fauna. Surf at Sandspit or Hazards, hike one of the park's many trails, or spend an afternoon picnicking at Spooner's Cove. Montaña De Oro is bordered to the north by Los Osos and Baywood, and to the south by the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.

Hazards surf break and tidepools.
