Minutes of Committee Meeting held on Wednesday July 8th 2015

at 9.30am in the Hahndorf Memorial Institute Supper Room.

3. Minutes of Previous Meeting June 10

4. Business Arising.

4.1 DCMB Business Plan/ Hahndorf Master Plan progress.

i. letter sent June 10 to CEO requesting consideration of and funding for Hahndorf Master Plan.

Jeff responded that he spoke on our behalf re Master Plan at Budget Meeting .Human

resources not available at present, and $50,000 not in current Budget- however a December review will consider this as part of next year's budge tie 2016/17.

Marc Voortman contact person. Littlehampton Master Plan consultation commencing immediately due to resident concern over Glebe land.Discussion as to HCA approach. Agreed that a draft of our position be prepared, ready for submission. Action Jean & subcommittee.

Master Plan subcommittee. Chair Jean ; members Bruce, Rick, Ann , Jeff as advisor.

*Thankyou to Jeff for his support of HCA /Hahndorf need for consideration.

Public consultation will become part of this to set tone of what we want for the town. Not a suburb of Mt Barker.

Bob Goering acts as Convener of Public Consultation for DCMB.

ii. DCMB accepted Business Plan at July 6 meeting Rate increase of 3% .

4.2 Dry Zone Matters arising from meeting with P Mc Ginn. - Follow up from Peter.Minimal operative staff at Office of Liquor and Licensing, therefore probably no representitive could attend a meeting. Agreed to move ahead with a gathering of licensees and stakeholders as a celebration of 10 successful years of Dry Zone Thus a reminder of responsibilities offered to all. Peter to arrange Action Ann

4.3 AGM - Rick, Jean, Ann met with Dr Chris Daniels, who will be guest speaker. Topic

"Hahndorf needs nature" covering issues that matter for our future direction.

Meeting commence 7.30, speaker close to 8.00 for 40 minutes plus questions/discussion. Invitations ready to be delivered to DCMB staff etc.

Format - as previously with wine and cheese supper. Assistance needed to prepare.

4.4 Entrance Statement. - Jeff reported that an artist has commenced design of 6 sketches

To be placed on Community notice board for community perusal.

Negotiation for land size and a land agreement with Palmers.

Discussions with Anni Luir Fox, Jeff, Jason {HBTA].

Donations can be tax deductable. [as advertising]

4.5 Heritage Subcommittee - Jean tabled appplications for development under Heritage folio. Some included The Academy staircase, The Haus, 94 Mt Barker Rd , 2 Mt Barker Rd. recommend members look at these applications for interest.

5. Correspondence

Out - DCMB re Master Plan

In - DVA, HAT, PMc Ginn, Jamie Briggs, Help in the Hills notice, HBTA various training notices. report from Nixons Mill subcommittee.

6. Reports

6.1 Financial - $$3738.00 balance. including money set aside for Nixons Mill, 175th book.

6.2 Nixons Mill - project moving slowly. A Gotzheim DCMB Project Manager on leave . Will speak to committee about process on return. All tasks to be completed under one contractor.

6.3 Village Voice. - Welcome back Wendy. Articles commencing to evolve. Action Ann

Wendy /Ann to meet to plan editorial and articles Follow up payments to BSB.

6.4 Council Matters - Jeff reported that July 6 Budget accepted. 3% increase in rates.

Developers now held to deeds, rather than debentures in bank when commencing developments.New areas progressing

6.5 Heavy Vehicles on Main Street - Phil tabled a letter to Dave Collins Discussion as to how to best progress this matter of 15+ years. New attack to consider is safety factor for tourists . Action Phil/ Bruce

7. General Business

7.1 Remembrance Day - Invitations sent to politicians, bugler, organisations, schools.

PA to be arranged.[Institute pays] Speaker, Minister and MC to be arranged . Other matters closer to the date.

7.2 Facebook page - Tony explained the purpose and process Digital age for us

Set up to catch younger residents. Jean to manage with input from Ann, Gail 7.3 Local wikki Article in Village Voice about this and how to access information.  Action Tony

7.4 QR codes - system being introduced at Academy. To promote history,w alking tours etc

7.5 It is noted that a previous chairperson of HCA and partner to Heidi passed away.  Kevin Harnett. No funeral, therefore letter to be sent Action Ann
