Synchronized swimming at the University of Michigan began in the mid-twentieth century with the formation of the “MichiFish” club, which performed throughout the 1960s in extravagant water shows with elaborate themes.

The Michifish series contains the earliest record of synchronized swimming at the University of Michigan beginning in 1955. The papers are organized alphabetically and contain information regarding the Michifish tryouts, training, watershows, and competitions. Information regarding competitions after 1975 will be found in the Varsity Team series.
