History
Ashby BART was one of the original BART stations. The neighborhood developed before that around a steam train line, then an electric street car line that opened in 1891, the same year that the area was annexed into the City of Berkeley.
Community
Every Saturday, the parking lot of Ashby BART station becomes the site of a small neighborhood market from 9AM to 6PM.
