Cheap/Free Date Spots
A date at a coffee shop is a great, cheap, place to go. For the price of a cup of coffee, you have the perfect venue to chat with someone and really get to know them. The same idea would work for something like frozen yogurt. Both of these are cheaper than many restaurants.
If you or your date are into reading or books, try hanging out at Barnes and Noble. Grab some books or magazines and hang out in the cafe together.
For the more traditional movie/dinner night with someone, head over to one of the multiple Family Videos in town. They have a large selection of new and old movies that are very very cheap. Then, if your someone who knows their way around a kitchen, head over to the nearest Jewel, Meijer or Walmart and pick up some food and wine. Dinner and a movie for a fraction of the price of the movie theatre.
Snooping around the Dollar Store for fun or interesting things can always be a good time. Who doesn't like walking in a store and knowing they could afford anything in there. They usually have fun games and things that could provide an enjoyable evening.
Outdoors
For the people who like being outdoors, try Ewing Park. Take a scenic walk through the trails together for a romantic time outside.
Comlara Park is a great place for a date. With several hiking trails, a beautiful lake, and campsites overlooking the lake, Comlara Park is the perfect place to take your significant other.
In winter, take your date ice skating. There is a big ice skating arena in the Pepsi Ice Center, next to the Coliseum. It is cheap entertainment that is sure to be fun for a few hours.
Miller Park Zoo is also a good place.
