Pineville, North Carolina

Pineville is located 11 miles south of Charlotte, outside of Charlotte-Mecklenburg County. The exact location is 35.09 North, 80.89 West. Pineville was introduced 1873 in the state of North Carolina and was named for its large and abundant pines that exist in the area. Currently, it is estimated that 8,500 people live in the area, which was an increase of almost 8,000 since early 1900's. Pineville was also the birthplace of James K. Polk, the 11th U.S. President, which contributes to the historic emphasis of the town.
