Augie's is a coffeehouse that offers the usual coffee drinks. They have all organic fair trade coffee offerings (from regular coffee to mochas to lattes and more) as well as baked goods from the local Delightfully Delicious. The coffees and teas are all organic and high quality. In addition to coffees and teas, they offer Dr. Smoothie all fruit smoothies and juices from R.W. Knudsen, a local business.
The profits from Augie's are donated to charity. CSU and Butte College Students And Staff receive a 10% discount with their ID card. This is not a corporate coffee place looking to line its own pockets, but an organization that is looking to do some good within the community. In addition to being a responsible member of the community, Augie's also attempts to be responsible in the world system by brewing only Organic and fair trade coffees.
The atmosphere at Augie's is casual, and the interior is very bright and conducive to studying. There are bright windows that look out to Salem Street, which let a lot of light in. Additionally, because of the connection to the church, there are beautiful stained glass windows. And Free WiFi every day.
If you want to play a friendly game of chess with friends and/or family they have a row of tables with wooden chess and checkers sets available.
