Glass Recycling

New Glass Recycling available in city limits of Conway! In the past, anyone who wanted to recycle their glass had to remove all labels, lids and caps from their bottles and jars and transport their glass to the department. With the new recycling program, none of that will be a requirement.

“This will be a curbside program that will pick up your glass that comes from either household glass, food or beverage containers,” said Angie Howard, recycling coordinator for the sanitation department. “All the little things you had to do before, you won’t have to do now. You can leave the lids and labels on the containers.”

And residents will be able to leave their glass to be picked up instead of transporting it themselves. The way to do that will be to request a blue recycling bin, which the department has available. The bins are 18 gallons and are available by calling the department.at 450-6155.

E-Waste Disposal

The Faulkner County Solid Waste District offers residents of Faulkner County the opportunity to recycle their electronic waste via the Unicor Corporation in Texarkana, TX.

Electronic items are accepted at the City of Conway Recycling Center located at 4550 Hwy 64 West in Conway, Monday through Saturday during normal business hours of 7:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Mulch/Compost

It is prohibited to throw away (in normal trash can) yard waste.  It should be placed in bags or containers labeled yard waste for collection. (Anyone understand the collection schedule?)

The yard waste from the city is composted along with chipped limbs and branches.  You can load it yourself during normal hours, or on certain days (help?) they will fill it for you with a loader.

If you are a resident of Maumelle (wink wink), you may take glass recycling (clear, colored, and with labels on them) to the Maumelle recycling center. Very friendly workers, they also take cardboard, paper, etc, see website for details: http://maumelle.org/city-departments/public-works/recycling.html#dropoff  -JeffPadberg
