Adirondack Daily Enterprise, May 20, 1969, a story from Helen Tyler based on stories in the Adirondack Enterprise for June 21, 1906

"The contract for building the Vermontville school has been awarded to William Wardner of Bloomingdale. The price including the outbuildings is something less than $1,000. The work of grading, etc., has been commenced." This was the "Branch School". It was a one-room building, just about two miles west of New York Route 3, on the road from Vermontville toward Onchiota, in what used to be known as the O'Peechee Hill area.
