Officials in San Diego County are warning medical providers to be on the look out for more cases of the conditions linked to black tar heroin use. Deaths occurred from myonecrosis is a bacterial infection that destroys muscle. All of these deaths were located in the San Diego area. Some social aspects that come out of this is how everyone that died from this black tar was in the San Diego area indicating a heavy use of black tar in this area. Also interesting is that black tar heroin is the choose of heroin in this area whereas in other places in the US articles just say heroin. The social aspect from this article is that we can examine the use of black tar heroin in this "community" of drug users. Most articles when talking about heroin just say heroin, so there seems to be a reason they have to depict that they these users used black tar heroin.
