Child's Art Gallery was founded in 1868 by Brainard F. Childs and operated photo studios in Marquette, Houghton, and Ishpeming. In 1978, after 110 years of business, Child’s Art Gallery went out of business. The collection of original negatives is now owned by Jack Deo of the Superior View studio.

Childs produced a widely held set of stereoscopic views under the name "Gems of Lake Superior scenery".
