Shea Island (historically called Ram Island at least as early as 1682 and Middle Island at least as early as 1703 ) is one of the Norwalk Islands. In February 1682, the town voted to improve the island only for the inhabitancy of rams. Overnight camping is allowed with a permit issued by the City of Norwalk. 1 Shea Island was named after Daniel Shea, recipient of the Medal of Honor.
