- The Holdout (2313 San Pablo Ave) held Juneteenth Celebrations on June 14th, 2013 an June 15th, 2013.
- On June 22nd, 2013, People's Grocery also held a Juneteenth Celebration at California Hotel. The festival featured a cash-free swap meet organized by Cowrie Village, where people were free to trade their trade/time, plants, housewares, etc. It also had food demonstrations, local artisans and social justice tables. The Peoples Grocery farm opened its doors for visitors to tour the farm, which included an aquaponics demonstration.

The 5th Annual Black and Brown Family Juneteenth Celebration will be held Saturday, June 29th from 11:00-6:00. Come celebrate over 200 years of African American and La Raza history at this 5th Annual Family Celebration hosted by The Black and Brown Committee. The festival is free to the public, and will include good food and giveaways. Councilwoman Lynette McElhaney will be the keynote.

The Peralta Hacienda Historical Park held a big Juneteenth Celebration – Saturday, June 22, 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.,
2465 34th Avenue.
The celebration includes a ribbon cutting for the new Healing Garden, creekside ampitheater, renovated Peralta Creek Ramp and Community Mosaic Mural and a recreation trail. Activities will include music, historical arts & crafts for children and more. For more information, please visit www.peraltahacienda.org.
There will be hand-carved dolls from Peru.

- Master storyteller Malcolm Westbrooks, with tales of his childhood wandering the safe, clean creeks of Fruitvale and the amazing adventure of his family in the South.
- In a related art installation inside the Peralta House, Walter Hood's Talking StoryHorse immerses you in the voices of Oakland's African Americans.
- Afro-Haitian Dance Performance with Yaffa in the park's Historic Core.
