The Oakland Public Library's Main Library Teen Zone is an awesome place where teens can get books, video games, comic books, useful information on internships and jobs, and more. The Teen Zone is located on the top floor of the main library building in downtown Oakland. For a visitor on the top floor, take the right hallway and take it to the end of the hallway to get to the Teen Zone. There are also a number of special events held at the Teen Zone that occur year-round.
The teen zone is a place we’re teens can come to hang out with friends, do research, look up great opportunities, and have a great time . The teen zone is not like any library I’ve ever been to they make you feel at home and treat each person as a friend. The staff are fun and interact with each person that comes through the door. They help others and encourage others to participate in activities, and look for interesting new things on the teen’s opportunities board and opportunities binder where they have all types of offers. They also have resource guides to help those in need and to remind others that the teen zone is always there to help. The teen zone has a lot of activities to choose from like button making , soap making , candle making, henna, tidying, making duct tape wallets silk screening , jewelry making and more. The teen zone has over 30 volunteers each week ,they help run the teen zone and by doing this they gain all they need to know to be pre paired for a real job in life. It’s never boring at the teen zone that’s why I would recommend coming here to anyone.
