Pathways to Justice is a "convening series" held at the HUB Oakland temporary space at 1423 Broadway.
The first event is on July 25th, 2013, and is about "Radical Inclusivity" and is being held held in the wake of the Zimmerman verdict and the protests in Oakland. The event is described this way:
The world we live in is unconcerned with the lives of many. Most of us are trying to determine how to create change in our corner of the world. HUB Oakland is choosing to respond with healing and with action. The founders, staff and members of HUB Oakland stand in solidarity with community in righteous mourning and protest and say enough is enough.
Pathways2Justice is a series HUB Oakland is developing in partnership with Office of Oakland Councilmember Lynette Gibson McElhaney, Betti Ono Gallery and The Greenlining Institute that is committed to reaching deep and broad within the Oakland community and holding space for guided discussion and the development of pathways to justice.
On Thursday, we will utilize the World Café model and Joanna Macy’s The Work that Reconnects to engage with not only recent events, but discover how we can dismantle systems of injustice as a collective.
Please join us in this transformative process, we are emphasizing our core value of Radical Inclusivity which means all perspectives are welcome to co-create comprehensive, ongoing and sustainable responses to injustices that have persisted for too long. The event is family-friendly.
