Peralta Creek, the primary creek of the Peralta Creek Watershed, flows from sources just south of Joaquin Miller Park, primarily Butters Canyon, then through the canyon behind the Oakland California Temple, where it runs along the Hayward fault, then cuts through a bedrock ridge in Rettig Canyon adjacent to Rettig Avenue to Peralta Creek Park, between the Laurel and Dimond commercial centers. The creek enters a culvert at Florida Street and crosses under I-580, then emerges near Berlin Way and runs along Humboldt Avenue through Peralta Hacienda Historical Park as far as Salibury Street. It re-emerges at Galindo Street and runs along 34th Avenue past Foothill Boulevard, entering its last culvert in Cesar Chavez Community Garden and flowing to an outlet at East Creek Slough at the former Clark's Landing, in San Leandro Bay.
