Pawtucket is famous for hosting the Longest Professional Baseball Game that began on Saturday, April 18, 1981, was halted on Easter Sunday after the 32nd inning and resumed on the evening of Tuesday, June 23. On that evening the Pawtucket Red Sox (PawSox) put the Rochester_Red_Wings out of there misery in just one more inning.The triple-A International League game was played at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, RI and lasted a total of 8 hours and 25 minutes. |
