The Afghan Student Association intends to prompt academic awareness, tolerance, and peace in issues relating to Afghanistan in San Francisco State University. As a non-political and non- religious organization, it tries to promote an understanding of Afghan people and bring them together as a community. The center offers students use of computers, printers, and other equipment. Academic and cultural events, such as film screenings, book signings, poetry readings, and annual festivals are also held at the center and are open to all.
