The Black Student Union is an Organization dedicated to unifying, uplifting and empowering Black People on and off campus. It was the first Black Student Union founded on any campus in 1966.

The goals of the BSU include:

  • Unify Black people on San Francisco State's campus through cultural, political, social, and informational events.
  • Communicate with other Black Student Unions across the country.
  • Build leaders to advance our struggle for liberation through organizing, and returning to their communities and teach our children their REAL history
  • Unify the worldwide Black Afrikan struggle
