Johnnie’s Bar & Grill is located at 3904 West Jefferson Avenue in Ecorse across from Ecorse City Hall. The location was previously The Gin Mill until owner Johnnie DeAngelis completed a $350,000 renovation in 2015.

The bar at 3904 W. Jefferson Ave., in Ecorse, still has all the staples of a place patrons compared to “Cheers”: a comfortable feel, pool tables, late-night bites and a full selection of beer and liquor. But after a $350,000 renovation project he’s been working on for years, owner Johnnie DeAngelis has reopened as a new and improved lounge that he said is “a working man’s bar” with a “classy industrial” feel. The afternoon of Dec. 20, the bar is serving a free Christmas dinner to those who are alone or in need.
