Los Angeles, California, is the second-largest city in the United States, located all the way nearly on the opposite side of the continent (and three time zones) from Downriver. It was in this city that Heinz Prechter founded the American Sunroof Co. (now ASC, Inc.) in 1965, before relocating to Southgate. The city also hosted the Summer Olympics in 1932 and 1984. The 1984 Summer Olympics Torch Relay passed through Downriver on May 21 of that year.

A number of airlines provide service to Los Angeles out of Metro Airport. In fact, Los Angeles is one of the more-popular destinations for Downriver travelers, mainly as a result of year-round summer weather, which in the winter months is a big contrast to frequently seeing snow falling back at home, although Downriver residents visit Florida cities more frequently during the winter.

No Localwiki page covers the city proper exclusively, although this one covers this massive, sprawling metropolis.
