On February 8, 1988, eight different short Gibraltar streets, which simply branched off of longer roads and dead-ended at a nearby body of water about a hundred feet away, were permanently decertified as public roads:

  • Peyton Avenue on Hall and Main Islands, though the Hall Island leg is still designated as Peyton to this day.
  • Downy Street, which branched off of Young Drive midway onto Edmond Island. A vacant lot is all that remains.
  • Glyde Street, which branched off of Adams Drive between Ivy and Leslie Streets on Main Island, a house at 30725 Adams is now on the site.
  • Lena Street, which branched off of East Pointe Drive on Hall Island near the southern end, a house at 30565 East Pointe is now on the site.
  • Lynn Street, which branched off of Bayview Drive just north of Addison Street on Main Island. A vacant lot is all that remains.
  • Myrtle Street, which branched off of Triangle Drive on Edmond Island just after turning from south-southwesterly to southeasterly, a house at 30616 Triangle was built on the site in 1993.
  • Reno Street, which branched off of West Pointe Drive on Hall Island near the southern end. A vacant lot is all that remains.
  • Waterway Drive, which branched off of Young Drive on Edmond Island directly adjacent to the bridge. A vacant lot is all that remains.
