Todd Williams is currently proposing a drive-in Movie Theater at Sibley Road and Telegraph Road in Brownstown Township. However, this project is already being opposed by many parties, one factor being requiring leveling 11 acres of forestry, which is already causing an uproar led by Frank Romanowski of Wyandotte.

The land, which totals 11 acres, is wooded and there are no residences directly near it, and it’s what Williams calls the perfect piece of property for a drive-in. “What I came across — it was almost like God put it in front of me because everything about it is ideal,” he said. The problem is it needs to be rezoned, and that’s exactly why Williams hasn’t pushed ahead to begin construction. To begin that process, he’ll go before the Brownstown Township Planning Commission at 7 p.m. March 14. The Planning Commission, however, as a recommending body, cannot give consent, only recommend whether to rezone. The township’s Board of Trustees will make the final decision.
